A Collection of Mansells
A Collection of Mansells (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS)

At the Mansell Collection, which is disappointingly only has a small collection of Mansells and instead seems to be full of cars and car bits. So as you an guess, this weekend we were in Jersey. Fun for the whole family if it weren't for the fact that not all the family was there and the wind was so bad it made each flight (and there were 4) really quite horrendous. In fact the flights got worse with each one, saving the mother of all killer landings to the end which is not fun in the best of times, but bearing in mind I don't know what time I got to bed because I was in the residents bar to stupid o'clock, then it all added up to be a complete arse.

Anyway, back to the Mansell Collection which is basically a £10 jaunt in one small room packed with trophies and cars with the every excited Nigel narrating you through every detail as only a Nigel can. Still I did find out that there is a Birkin 7 which is basically a Caterham/Lotus 7 for the US market, but I'm not sure that little factoid is worth £10.

Blue John Window
Blue John Window (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS)

We had a quick trip ot Vernon Park this afternoon, and on a trip to the toilets (there's always one) we stopped at the cafe. So waiting about for someone to come back I saw this. Initially thinking it was stained glass but suspecting it wasn't because it just didn't look like stained glass I found out that it was one of the largest Blue John window.... erm... I Stockport and perhaps elsewhere. Unfortunately the Canon didn't do it much justice, I knew I should have brought my Nikon.

Tamarind Paste
Tamarind Paste (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS)

I have always wondered whether Emporer Monkeys tasted of Orange, mainly due to the fact that in my mind Tamarind sounds like a mash up of Tangarine and Mandarin. Of course they don't taste of Orange as that would be silly, everyone knows that they taste of mint and even at this proximity to them it would cause deep distress to them and probably me, should I try to give one a hearty lick.

Just so you know, these are in the Durrell wildlife park for wildlife that earn far too much and want to become Jersey residents to avoid UK tax. So it appears that these chaps have a bob or two and sit their taunting me with their fresh minty flavour and piles of cash and yet expect people like me to pay to see them get three square meals a day all paid for out of my entrance money... it makes me sick.

I say send them back where they came from and whilst that could be the Durrell Wildlife Park, I mean India or somewhere not here.

German Fort
German Fort (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS)

All fun as usual, this time it's fun in Jersey. This picture is of the fort just of St Aubin. The sun is hot... ish and the wind is raging, the walls are thin but it's a pretty little bit of the country if you know what I mean. I have yet to venture out much other than St Aubin at the moment but that will happen in time. Not that there is too much of the island to be honest, though I did watch the adverts for Jersey before I left and I must admit I haven't yet seen where they were filmed so perhaps it's larger than I think. I must visit Town at one point and by that I mean St. Hellier. I alsomust see if I can get to the fort, which is walkable when the tide is out. Getting there isn't the problem, knowing you can get back is probably the issue.

Beacon II Return of the Beacon
Beacon II Return of the Beacon (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS)

With nothing much other than work happening, it was nice to get out and have a bit of a walk even though it was around Alderley Edge and back to the same Beacon we visited six years ago. This time I got the whole plaque in without having to piece it together like I seemed to have to do with the old QTEK 9100, it was also nice and sunny this time unlike the last.

Prior to this we went to the Mind Body and Soul exhibition/thingy/lounge which I should have realised by the name of it that I would hate it. Strangely enough it wasn't that bad, mainly due to it's minuscule size. We paid our four and a half of your English Pounds for one lap of the hall which even at a slow pace took a maximum of 5 minutes. After this we left. Job done.

Helter Skelter
Helter Skelter (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS)

It's really a bit of a prescriptive description here. It really says what it does on the tin, but to be honest there were no pics from this year that seemed good enough even though there have been few outings this year and it's only just February. To be honest there's nothing been doing the last few weeks and I have been not that bothered to do anything either, perhaps that will change with a holiday on the horizon, however no up to date pics on that holiday what with the cost of roaming data and absolutely no WiFi in the hotel which is so last year it's unbelievable, how I shall survive I have no idea.

Anyway back to the pic (which I think should be my catch-phrase). This is of a Helter Skelter in Cheshire Oaks after going to the unimpressive Blue Planet Aquarium. It looked pretty and I'm not 100% sure I caught the prettiness with it's lights and the sun going down. But hey, what do I know about prettiness?

High Speed
High Speed (Canon PowerShot SX230 HS)

Todays outing was to the Blue Planet Aquarium which I was looking forward to but just like Blackpool your memories of it are better to stay just as that... memories. Never go back. After a payment of over forty of your English pounds the sights were few. Perhaps I have been spoilt by The Deep which is a brilliant world of the sea rather than the small Cafe which is the Blue Planet. Of course I could go back to The Deep and think exactly the same.

Anyway, to the picture. It was taken from my new camera, the rather average Cannon Powershot SX230 HS, which is a rather catchy title I think, it was a 1 second shot from the Cannon on the home journey which doesn't have any coordinates from the GPS in the EXIF as I would have hoped for but perhaps it's just a Cannon thing and perhaps I really need to mess with their drivers... I was hoping otherwise.
