With many miles behind us this is a pic at the end of the day at Port Andratx. The start of the day lead us to Arts and it's caves full of stalagmites and stalagtites which were quite impressive as they usually are. I did take some pics with the San Fran but they were pretty bad. Then to the port of Sant Jordi and a walk around it's peninsula with the sun beating down and the wind taking the edge of the heat. Then back to Andratz to watch the sun go down whilst taking loads of pictures.

On a trip out to Palms we stumbled upon the Cathedral, well we found it stood there right on the front. The guide book suggested that the doors were the best thing and the most impressive thing. The doors were OK but the Cathedral was packed with people ignoring the no photography sign flashing away like no tomorrow. The stained glass windows were quite nice if not a little kaliescope like but the did throw an impressive light over everything.
After all of that we gave up on Palma as I don't think walking was something everyone else was into and seeing the rest of Palma would require a bit of that so we departed for Soller, a beach which would cater for one in our party at least. On the way it was quite obvious (as I had read) that Mallorca is a hit with cyclists. Huge bands of them strung out over the steep climbs, some with support cars, some in teams, but all doing better than I would.
Soller was OK and pretty in its own way but a beach town nonetheless.

Not so much a grey day in Manchester but just a bad camera in Manchester it being the camera phone that is the San Fransisco. To be honest in this lunch hour I couldn't se the screen because of it's badness so I would not advise using the phone as a camera, however I think part of this the auto brightness problem with it. Either way, this is a pic of the new court building in Manchester. I liked the shimmery reflection and symmetry of it. On the phone it looked pretty bad but now it just looks bad.
With any luck I'll get more interesting pics next week as it's been a little quiet for February.

Off to MOSI today to try out their new exhibit which is an interactive thing where you register with a barcode and try out the exhibits which would have been great if any of them were working. I'm pretty sure this only opened yesterday so it was a little disappointing so we moved on. The Power Hall was good as usual with the smell and sound of machines chugging away. Also in the hall was a demonstration of rocket making, paper rockets albeit some of which get jammed into the rafters all the others just drop into the many engines.
The picture here is the exhibit right at the start where you register, scan your card given to you at the start, take your picture and enter your name. 20 seconds later your face slowly ascends the wall. I did try and get my picture in the shot but just missed it. It's also nice to see Alan Turing in attendance.

With nothing of interest, Zamyatin has been a barren place for the last few weeks and to be honest there has been nothing doing, so I though that I would rectify that by posting a picture. Taken on the same day as the last picture we went to the squirrel park known as Marie Louise Park. Named after the daughter of the patron who gave it to Manchester. However it appers that there are a whole load of squirrels that have taken it as their home. You might think that I am spinning you a yarn but no. I have never seen so many. If you're lucky at home then you might see one or two every so often but I suspect in this park then you'll see loads all of the time and bearing in mind that they don't hibernate then I suspect it's an all the year round thing.
Because of this you would expect a good picture but I am afraid I had two problems. The first is that they move far too quickly and I am far too bad at taking pictures. Add to this that the lens I chose wasn't an auto-focus, otherwise it would have been like shooting fish in a barrel. Anyway I'm not sure where the focus point is as I can't see it so perhaps it's camera shake that's the issue but here you go.
