Vulcanisation
Vulcanisation (Nikon D5300)

A few weeks ago we were off to the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, mainly to see the flypast of the Vulcan. The cars were good and we saw a bit of action on the lake, but the main event was the Vulcan obviously pictured here.To be honest it's the usual thing when we go to a car event... everyone else gets bored really quickly. I'm never sure why I just don't go on my own, still when we were there I found out that my daughter really liked it each time we went to see Touring Cars, until I discovered that she had mixed up Touring Cars with the Autosport show, how she did it I don't know but she did. To be honest we went to two Autosport shows and the second made me feel uncomfortable with a soon to be teenage daughter due t the roles of women in the show. Don't get me wrong, I am no prude but women in the second show just seened to be there for adornment and to stand around in tight lycra. At least in the first one we had Louise Goodman in the live arena giving Jason Plato a run for his money.

Anyway, back to the photo. This is the last year that the Vulcan will be flying and in fact today it flew over Woodford where all the Vulcans were built, unfortunately I couldn't make it to see it again, but it was impressive at Cholmondeley and I'm sure it was impressive today. What I did find out at Cholmondeley was that they user the sam Olympus engine as the Concorde, that's something for a pub quiz.
